Swiss cross with its historical meaning became very popular stylish decor statement lately. This little pattern which used to be reserved for medical box, nowadays can be seen on pillows, blankets, mugs and even floors. No matter the color it still looks iconic and classy, so no surprise it attracts more and more designers and shoppers. Swiss cross symbol is everywhere and it feels better than ever.
The inspiration probably comes from a Swiss flag, although that cross has specific dimensions due to its history. Designers, however don't follow blindly the original, but interpret it their own way. You may see some variations in that interpretation mostly refering to color which is usually black or white, but red or yellow don't really stay far behind.
Swiss cross became a real trend in design, but no one understood it better than Scandinavians. No surprise they loved it so much as it really correspondents to their clean and minimal style.
It is also popular among DIY lovers with its simple and symmetrical lines. It's easy to paint, washi tape or stamp. No matter really how, on what or where is it placed, it's a trend worth following.
