In this tutorial I will tell you how you can easily adapt birch branch as part of your home decoration. This project requires some precision, but it's worth an effort.

STEP BY STEP
Depending on where are you getting your birch from, it needs to be dry before you start doing anything with it, so leave it in some place warm for few days and let it dry first.

Next cut the bottom of the birch trunk evenly, so it stands straight when touching the floor. Wrap the end of it with some twine (not too thick!) and then place it in the bucket - this should prevent concrete from cracking. To keep the birch standing still, tight it into something and make sure it won't move.

Next do a concrete base. Mix concrete following the instructions on the packaging and then pour it into the bucket. It must cover the bottom of the birch trunk for minimum 6cm. Let it cure like that for few days, until you decide it sealed enough to be safely removed. Concrete will be still drying after being removed, but you don't want to do it too early and cause a crack accidentally.

That is basically the end of it, now it's the fun time - decorating! Do it with whatever you like and enjoy your diy birch tree. Below I placed some decorating ideas for you, but the selection of choices is much much wider...
